Spring chime
Spring Chime is built around double yellow tulips, slender curving scabiosa stems, and a handcrafted leaf-wrapped base finished with natural moss. There is no vase and nothing to arrange; the piece arrives complete, designed in the Amicis Dubai studio as a single ready-to-display sculpture rather than a conventional bouquet.
Tulips carry a long, storied history. Native to the mountain corridors of Central Asia and later celebrated across the Ottoman Empire, they sparked one of the most famous flower obsessions in history during the Dutch Golden Age. The double variety used here is fuller and more layered than the classic single tulip, its petals folding over one another like soft pleats of silk. Tulips are only lightly scented, so Spring Chime reads as fresh and clean rather than perfumed. In the language of flowers, yellow tulips have shifted over time from a note of longing to a far warmer meaning: cheerfulness, sunshine and renewed affection, which makes them a generous, optimistic choice.
Rising above the tulips, the scabiosa stems do the quiet work of the composition. Known as the pincushion flower for its domed, textured centre, scabiosa brings height, movement and a wild, meadow-like grace.
